Image tool

HEIC to JPG

Convert a HEIC or HEIF photo to JPG, entirely on your device.

Choose your HEIC or HEIF

One still image, up to 30 MB and 24 megapixels. Maximum 8,192 pixels per side.

Lower quality usually makes a smaller file. Higher quality keeps more detail. Transparent pixels become white.

Your file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to ToolPixels.

Local HEIC decoding

The decoder loads from this website only when you choose a HEIC or HEIF file. Your photo stays in the browser. Decoding can take a few seconds on a phone; Clear cancels the operation.

What is included

For a file containing several images, this tool exports the primary image (or the first image if none is marked primary). Live Photo video, image sequences, depth maps, and original metadata are not exported. Transparent pixels become white.

Output is an 8-bit JPG. HDR, wide-gamut colors, and some HEIF codec variants may not reproduce faithfully or may be unsupported. Review the preview and keep the original photo. Images over 24 megapixels, including 48-megapixel photos, exceed this tool's limit.

Decoder and source

This converter uses libheif-js 1.19.8, libheif, and libde265. Read the licenses, source downloads, and replacement instructions.

Limits and original files

The original file is not changed. Images are decoded and re-encoded; original metadata is not preserved, and colors may differ. Large images may exceed your device's memory even within the limits. If conversion fails, try a smaller image or another browser.
