JPG to WebP

Make a WebP from a JPG or JPEG, with control over output quality.

Choose your JPG or JPEG

One still image, up to 30 MB and 24 megapixels. Maximum 8,192 pixels per side.

Lower quality usually makes a smaller file. Higher quality keeps more detail. Transparency is preserved. Quality 100 is still lossy.

Your file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to ToolPixels.

Choose a practical quality

Start at 90 and lower the setting to reduce size. WebP is useful for web photos, but converting an already compressed JPG introduces another lossy encoding step. Even quality 100 does not restore missing detail.

Check the result

The image keeps its pixel dimensions and existing background. WebP may be smaller or larger depending on the image and quality setting. Keep the original JPG if you need its metadata or plan to edit again.

Limits and original files

The original file is not changed. Images are decoded and re-encoded; original metadata is not preserved, and colors may differ. Large images may exceed your device's memory even within the limits. If conversion fails, try a smaller image or another browser.
