Quality and transparency
WebP supports transparent pixels and is often smaller for web use. This tool uses your browser's lossy WebP encoder. Quality 100 is not a lossless mode, and small text or sharp edges can change.
Compare before replacing
Start at quality 90, inspect the preview, and lower the quality if you need a smaller file. Output is not guaranteed to be smaller. Pixel dimensions stay the same, and animated PNG files are not supported.
Limits and original files
The original file is not changed. Images are decoded and re-encoded; original metadata is not preserved, and colors may differ. Large images may exceed your device's memory even within the limits. If conversion fails, try a smaller image or another browser.
