How to use it

Normalization and URL use

ASCII mode removes combining accents and maps a few common Latin letters, but does not transliterate every script. Unicode mode retains letters and digits from other scripts. Apostrophes are removed; punctuation and whitespace become the separator. Leading and trailing separators are removed. This creates one path component, not a complete URL, and does not check whether it is unique.

Line-based editing normalizes Windows and older Mac line endings to LF. Keep your original if line-ending style matters.
