Sorting rules
Alphabetic sorting uses English collation; punctuation and accents follow your browser rules. Length counts Unicode code points including spaces. Numeric mode requires one finite decimal or scientific-notation number per line, with no blank lines or thousands separators. It uses JavaScript number precision, so values beyond about 15 significant digits may compare as equal. Ties retain their input order.
Line-based editing normalizes Windows and older Mac line endings to LF. Keep your original if line-ending style matters.
