Text Line Numberer
Number every line of a list, excerpt or set of instructions.
How to use it
- Paste or type your text, or load the example.
- Choose any options, then select Number lines.
- Review the result, then copy it or download a text file.
Numbering includes blank lines
Each line receives a number, including empty lines and an empty final line after a trailing newline. Choose a whole starting number between -1,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,000. The separator is literal text. An empty input produces an empty result.
Line-based editing normalizes Windows and older Mac line endings to LF. Keep your original if line-ending style matters.
