Choose the right URL mode

Component mode uses encodeURIComponent and escapes separators such as &, =, / and ?. Whole URL mode uses encodeURI and preserves URL delimiters, so it is not suitable for a single query value. Form mode follows application/x-www-form-urlencoded rules and writes spaces as +. Existing percent escapes are encoded again. Input is never opened as a URL.
