Percentage Change Calculator

How percentage change works

Subtract the starting value from the new value, divide the difference by the absolute starting value, then multiply by 100. A positive result is an increase, a negative result is a decrease, and equal values have no change.

A percentage change cannot be calculated from a starting value of zero because division by zero is undefined. The calculator will identify that case instead of showing a misleading result.
