How to reorder PDF pages

Move misplaced pages into the intended sequence and export a new PDF without changing the source file.

Open the reorder pages tool

Map old positions to the new order

The order field uses physical positions from the original file. For a four-page document, entering 4, 1-3 puts original page 4 first, followed by pages 1, 2 and 3.

Include every page exactly once. Reordering changes sequence; it does not duplicate or remove pages.

Rearrange the pages

  1. Choose a PDF in the Reorder PDF Pages tool.
  2. Use the move controls or type the complete new order.
  3. Check that every original physical page appears once and only once.
  4. Select Save page order.
  5. Download the PDF and read through each transition.

Printed numbers are page content and move with their pages. If the document's visible numbering becomes incorrect, add new page numbers after reordering.

Typical uses

  • Move a scanned cover to the front.
  • Correct pages fed through a scanner in the wrong sequence.
  • Place an appendix after the main text.
  • Restore a document assembled from separate page batches.

If you need to remove a page, use Delete PDF Pages. If you need a new file containing only part of the document, use Extract PDF Pages.

Common questions

Can I repeat a page?

The tool expects a complete order with no repeated pages. Duplicate the page through another workflow first if repetition is required.

Are bookmarks updated?

Advanced document features may not survive restructuring, so check bookmarks, links, forms and attachments in the export.
