How to Convert PNG to JPG
JPG is often practical for photographs, but it cannot store transparency and uses lossy compression. Preview the output before replacing a PNG copy.

Transparent and partly transparent PNG pixels need a background in JPG. ToolPixels places them on white during conversion.
Decide whether JPG fits
JPG works well for photographs. PNG often remains better for logos, screenshots, line art, small text, and flat-color graphics because it preserves sharp edges.
Converting is not guaranteed to reduce size. A simple optimized PNG may be smaller than its JPG version.
How to convert PNG to JPG
- Upload one still PNG.
- Choose JPEG quality and convert.
- Check transparent areas, edges, and file size before downloading.
Start around quality 90 for a first comparison, then lower it gradually if a strict size limit matters.
Transparency and background
JPG has no alpha channel. Fully transparent areas become white, and translucent edges blend against white.
If the final page uses another background, flatten against that color before converting or pale halos may appear.
Protect detail and metadata
Quality 100 is still lossy. Fine text and interface screenshots may show ringing or blur, so PNG may remain better.
Browser re-encoding may remove metadata. Keep the source when provenance or later editing matters.
