How to merge PDF files in the right order
Join separate chapters, scans or forms into one PDF while preserving the order you choose.
Open the Merge PDF toolOrganize files before merging
Decide the final sequence before creating the output. A practical order might be cover, contents, main document and appendices. Clear filenames help, but always confirm the order shown by the tool.
Merging combines complete files. To include only part of a source, extract those pages first.
Merge PDFs step by step
- Add between 2 and 20 PDFs to the Merge PDF tool. The current tool accepts up to 200 MB total.
- Move the files until their displayed order matches the final document.
- Select Merge PDFs.
- Download the combined file and inspect every boundary where one source ends and the next begins.
The merger processes files in your browser and does not upload them to ToolPixels.
Review the combined document
- Confirm the first and last pages of every source.
- Check mixed page sizes and orientations.
- Look for duplicate covers or blank separator pages.
- Remember that printed page numbers may restart between source documents.
Ordinary page content is preserved, but advanced features such as forms, bookmarks, attachments, cross-file links and digital signatures may not behave as they did in the separate originals.
Common questions
Can I change individual page order while merging?
Merge controls file order. Use Reorder PDF Pages when individual pages need rearrangement.
Does merging compress the PDFs?
No compression is promised. The purpose is to combine pages, so check the output size separately.
