How to Convert HEIC to JPG
HEIC stores photos efficiently but is not accepted everywhere. Converting to JPG creates a broadly compatible copy for forms, websites, older software, and simple sharing.

Keep the original HEIC. JPG uses lossy compression, and browser conversion may not preserve every camera, date, or location metadata field.
Why convert HEIC to JPG
Many phones save photos as HEIC or HEIF because the format can provide good quality at a smaller size. Some upload forms, desktop apps, and older devices still expect JPG.
JPG is practical for photographs. It does not support transparency and is less suitable for graphics with crisp text or flat-color edges.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Upload the original HEIC or HEIF photo.
- Choose a quality that balances detail and file size.
- Convert, inspect the JPG, and download it under a clear filename.
The conversion runs locally with a browser-compatible decoder. If a large or unusual HEIF file fails, try a smaller photo or another current browser.
Choose JPEG quality
An upper-middle setting is a sensible start for ordinary photos. Lower values usually reduce size but can add blocks around edges and smear fine textures. Quality 100 still does not make JPG lossless.
Judge the exported file at 100 percent zoom and at its intended viewing size. Return to the HEIC original for every new conversion.
Metadata, orientation, and size
Browser decoding normally applies stored orientation so the preview appears upright. Re-encoding may remove camera, GPS, date, and other metadata.
If a site imposes a maximum upload size, compare the output after conversion. JPG compatibility can improve even when the new file is larger.
Try it in your browser
The free ToolPixels HEIC to JPG processes your file locally in the browser. Review the result and keep the original file.
