How to extract pages from a PDF
Copy the pages you need into a smaller PDF without deleting them from the source document.
Open the extract pages toolExtraction is different from deletion
Extracting pages creates a new PDF from your selection and leaves the original untouched. Deleting pages creates a new PDF from everything outside the selection. Extraction is usually simpler when you need a chapter, appendix or short set of pages.
Use physical page positions. The first page in the file is 1, even when the document prints another label on it.
Extract selected pages
- Choose one PDF in the Extract PDF Pages tool.
- Enter individual pages or inclusive ranges, such as 1-3, 8, 11-13.
- Select Extract selected pages.
- Download the result and confirm its first page, last page and order.
The selected pages stay in their original sequence. If you need a different order, first use Reorder PDF Pages or reorder the extracted result afterward.
Useful extraction examples
- Save a single receipt from a combined monthly statement.
- Share one chapter without sending a full manual.
- Collect an introduction and appendix in one smaller file.
- Separate pages for a review workflow while retaining the source PDF.
Check whether the extracted pages depend on bookmarks, attachments, forms or links elsewhere in the original. Those advanced document relationships may not transfer as expected.
Common questions
Does extraction reduce quality?
The pages are copied into a new PDF rather than rendered as images, so ordinary page content is not intentionally recompressed. Always review the export.
Is the file uploaded?
No. ToolPixels processes the selected PDF locally in your browser.
