Sentence boundaries are estimates
Abbreviations, initials, headings and unfinished sentences can produce different counts across editors. Review the result if you need an exact editorial count. Words are letter or number groups; apostrophes inside words stay together and hyphens separate words. Characters count Unicode code points, not bytes or visible symbols. Combining marks count separately. Line endings are normalized to one newline. Paragraphs are separated by blank lines. A final newline adds an empty line. Sentence counts are estimates and may vary with abbreviations and browser language rules. Reading time assumes 200 words per minute.
