How to Flip an Image Horizontally or Vertically
Flipping reflects every pixel across an axis. A horizontal flip creates a left-to-right mirror image; a vertical flip turns the image across a horizontal line.

A flip is not a rotation. Two horizontal flips restore the original, while one horizontal plus one vertical flip equals a 180-degree rotation.
Choose the correct direction
Use horizontal flip when a subject should face the opposite direction or when checking visual balance. Use vertical flip for reflections, scanning corrections, or specific effects.
Text, logos, road signs, watches, and asymmetrical products become reversed in a horizontal flip. Check these details before publishing.
How to use Image Flipper
- Upload the image.
- Select horizontal or vertical reflection.
- Flip, inspect text and directional details, then download.
The browser processes decoded pixels locally. The original is unchanged, but the exported copy may not retain original metadata.
Portrait and product checks
A mirrored portrait can feel familiar because it resembles a mirror, but it no longer shows the scene as recorded. Do not flip documentary images without disclosing the change.
For products, verify button positions, labels, ports, handedness, and logos. A mirror image may inaccurately represent the item.
Flip versus rotate
Rotation turns around the center. A 90-degree rotation changes portrait and landscape orientation; a flip preserves canvas dimensions and reflects content.
If a scanned page is upside down, rotate 180 degrees. If it reads backward, flip horizontally.
