How to delete pages from a PDF
Remove blank, duplicate or unnecessary pages and export a separate PDF containing everything else.
Open the delete pages toolIdentify pages by physical position
PDF editors count the first file page as page 1, even when a cover has no printed number or front matter uses Roman numerals. Confirm the thumbnail or content at each physical position before deleting it.
Keep the original. Deletion is reflected only in the exported copy, but keeping the source makes accidental selections easy to correct.
Delete PDF pages step by step
- Open the Delete PDF Pages tool and choose one PDF.
- Enter pages to delete. Use commas for separate pages and hyphens for inclusive ranges, such as 2, 5-7.
- Select Delete selected pages.
- Download the new PDF and check the pages before and after every removed range.
If you need only a few pages from a long document, it is often clearer to extract the pages you want instead of listing everything to remove.
Checks before sharing
- Make sure section headings still have their supporting pages.
- Check that references such as “see page 12” remain meaningful.
- Confirm the last page was not omitted accidentally.
- Review forms, bookmarks, attachments and signed documents separately because restructuring can affect advanced PDF features.
Common questions
Can I delete every page?
No useful PDF would remain. Keep at least one page, or delete the file itself outside the tool if the whole document is unwanted.
Can deleted content be recovered from the export?
The removed pages are not included as normal pages in the new PDF. For sensitive data, however, use a purpose-built redaction workflow and inspect the file carefully rather than treating page deletion as redaction.
