How to check browser information

Browser information can help explain compatibility, language, cookie, and connection-status issues. The key is knowing what the browser reports and what those readings cannot prove.

Check browser information

Quick steps

  1. Open the ToolPixels Browser Information Checker.
  2. Read the current browser-reported values.
  3. Select Refresh information if the environment changed.
  4. Copy or download the report only if you need to share it.
  5. Remove anything you do not want included before sending the report.

The checker reads the displayed properties locally. It does not create a fingerprint, request permissions, or transmit a report to ToolPixels.

When a browser report helps

A report is useful when a page behaves differently across browsers, content appears in an unexpected language, or support staff need a reproducible description of the environment. Capture the report while the problem is happening because browser settings, private mode, extensions, and device changes can affect the result.

Good diagnostic context: include the page address, the action that failed, the expected result, the actual result, and the browser report. Do not include passwords, session tokens, or private form data.

Browser information is not identity

Browser-exposed values are claims and preferences, not verified facts about a person or device. Privacy protections may deliberately reduce precision. A user agent does not prove an exact browser, online status does not confirm a reachable website, and a cookie preference does not confirm that a particular cookie was stored.

For web development, use feature detection for capabilities instead of treating a browser name as a guarantee.
